Welcome to the 1st World Football Congress of the Game of Fairplay September 1-3, 2008, organised by The Game of Fairplay (GFP), together with the consortium members “Universities, Institutions in cooperation with Football Association and Organisations, supported by National an International Football Clubs and International Football Business Organisations.

The purpose of the conference is to offer a forum to Explore for professionals, sport managers, practitioners, decision-makers from, clubs, associations, and other sports organisations, as well as sponsors and at marketing and sponsorship experts.

General Information

Conference Site
The 1st World Football Congress 2008 will take place at the Hilton Convention Centre In Istanbul. The Hilton Convention Centre is the unique place of its kind in the world which offers one of the best and newest conference facilities up to date.

Conference Service Desk
The conference service desk is located in the Hilton Convention Centre and is open daily from 08.00 Sunday 31st August through Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd September 2008.

Registration
Registration takes place at the conference site – main entrance between 08.00 - 10.00 hours, Sunday 31st August through Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd September 2008.

Conference and Workshops
A number of workshops will be organised with collaborating conference partners

Badges
All registered delegates, exhibitors, conference partners; students and media members have to wear The Game of Fairplay Conference 2008 badges for security reasons during conference events. Badges serve as passports to the conference site, luncheons, coffee and social activities. Accompanying persons must wear their badges during Conference reception, Monday night dinner and closing Banquet. Please, note badges for accompanying persons do not entitle to conference attendance.

Meals and coffee breaks
Conference luncheons and coffees are included in the conference fee for all delegates. The Conference Hospitality facilities are located in the Hilton Ground. For other guests lunch and coffee coupons are available at the conference service desk.

Please, ask for meeting rooms at the conference service desk.

Speakers´ preparation room
The speakers´ preparation room is located at the conference Hall and is open daily from 08.00.

Power Point presentations
Speakers using Power Point are kindly requested to contact the preparation room for technical arrangements at the latest one-day before presentation in question. Conference staff will assist the speakers concerning their demonstration material and equipment.

For those presenting on Monday September 1-3 conference staff will be available Sunday 31st August, 10.00 - 18.00. You can also submit your presentation in advance. Please, e-mail your Power Point presentation, marked with your name and title of presentation, to Game of Fairplay Technical Team at www.info@gamefairplay.com  

Internet service
Conference delegates are offered Internet service at the Conference Please, follow the signs or ask at the conference desk

Copying service
The conference desk provides copying service at a moderate cost and free for all speakers.

Bulletin Board Daily
Daily programme and messages will be posted on the bulletin board in the Entrance Conference Hall at the Conference service desk.

Exhibition area
The Game of Fairplay Conference 2008 exhibition area is located in the Ground and Basement Floor area. The exhibition is open daily from 08.00. 1st World Football Congress will be represented in the exhibition area together with other sport related organisations and companies.

Practical Information

Transfers
The Game of Fairplay Organisation is providing all kind of transport facilities to make sure your groups arrives at the right place on time. It is important to se any transfer as an integrated component of the event. We extent our transfer services from Airports and from allocated accommodations and also from three centre points of Istanbul City to Conference Centre), further details please visit the hospitality facilities of World Football Congress.

Climate
September means late summer or early fall. Temperatures normally vary from about a high +25 C to a low +15 C. Sunrises at around 06.00 and sets at about 20.00.

Currency
Turkey is not part of the European monetary system. EURO is generally accepted in major department stores and restaurants. One EURO equals 1.5 YTL (New Turkish Lira).

Visa

Health regulations
Similar to EU regulation. For a specific inquiry or needs do inform to the Game of FairPlay Management.

Insurance
The organisers cannot be held responsible for injury or sickness to Conference attendees or to damage or loss of personal belongings.

This vibrant city embraces the variety of rich historical visiting places and cultural settings, reflected through its cuisine, shops and colourful life activities and many other facilities are easily accessible to Conference participants.
